The UMass Minutemen have had a rough go in their first season in the FBS, falling to 0-6 through the first seven weeks of the season. But Charley Molnar's club enjoyed their first bye week of the season last week, and they'll enter Week 8 with a home game against Bowling Green. This will be the fourth MAC game for the Minutemen in their inaugural season in the conference. They played Miami and an undefeated and ranked Ohio team close, before being blown out by Western Michigan.
Miami is the one common opponent between BGSU and UMass, and the Falcons walloped the Redhawks last week in Northwest Ohio. The Falcons have one of the top defenses in the FBS, allowing just 19.1 points per game. UMass, at 13.8 points per game, has had one of the worst offenses in the country so they'll have to get the offense going early to try and secure their first win of the season. The oddsmakers, however, favor the Falcons by 17.5 points.
Kickoff is set for Noon at Gillette Stadium. The game will not be televised but is available on radio on 105.5 FM and 1440 AM.
