The 2012 college football season hasn't been kind to Connecticut, Boston College or Massachusetts, and now none of the three teams are projected to make a bowl game this season.
At 3-5, the Connecticut Huskies have the best chance to make a bowl, but they would still need to win three of their last four games. The Huskies have lost three straight games since beginning the season 3-2. They are 0-3 in the Big East, a conference which isn't getting a lot of attention in bowl projections. In his latest bowl game projection, Jerry Palm of CBS Sports predicts just three Big East teams will earn bowl bids.
With a 1-6 record and having lost five straight games, the Boston College Eagles have a lot of work to do if they are going to make a bowl game this season. Technically, Boston College's bowl chances are still alive, although it would need to win all five of its remaining regular season games. The Eagles host Maryland on Saturday.
Massachusetts lost its seventh straight game of the season on Saturday, and at 0-7 are now ineligible for a bowl bid this year. Even if the Minutemen won their final five games, they would come up short of bowl eligibility at 5-7.
