Boston University senior ice hockey player Corey Trivino was arrested early Monday morning for allegedly breaking and entering into the room of a female Boston University residence assistant and allegedly attempting to rape the victim. The Terriers forward was dismissed from the team Monday after head coach Jack Parker got word of the incident.

For Trivino, a second round pick of the New York Islanders in 2008, it wasn't the first alcohol related incident. The man that could be considered the MVP of the ninth ranked team in the nation, has had several strikes against him when it comes to drinking, and had been warned that any future alcohol related action would cause him to be removed from the team.

This was the fourth alcohol related incident for Trivino since joining the Terriers, according to the Boston Hockey Blog, who spoke to Parker this afternoon. The Canadian native was suspended during his junior year for missing a mandatory bike ride, that was only held because a group of players had been caught drinking at an earlier date. Parker told the Boston Hockey Blog that he was convinced that Trivino had an alcohol problem.

“There is no question in my mind it's an alcohol problem,” Parker said. “I did [ask him to get treatment], but he didn’t think it was for him.”

After his arraignment on Monday, Trivino relinquished his Canadian passport and will not receive it back until the trial, unless he pays his $25,000 bail. Trivino pleaded not guily to seven charges, including one count of assault to rape and three counts each of breaking and entering and indecent assault and battery. The senior leads Boston University and Hockey East with 13 goals in 15 games and centered the team's first line.
