According to a report by Alex Speier of WEEI, the Boston Celtics will not pursue New Orleans center, Chris Kaman, who the Hornets have made available via trade.

According to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, while the Celtics would not consider adding Hornets center Chris Kaman through a trade, they would have interest in him if he was bought out of his contract and became available as a free agent.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Hornets are looking for "draft picks, cap space and a young player" in return for the 29 year old Kaman.

Offensively, Kaman is a below average player. His player efficiency rating is 13.9 this season and 14.4 for his career. Defensively, he can contribute to a team by blocking shots and crashing the defensive glass. His career defensive rebounding percentage of 23.9 and block percentage of 3.7 are both above average.

Davis is an unrestricted free agent while Baas has one more year let on his current contract, as well as an option year worth $4 million.
Davis has averaged 7.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 277 career games. Last season, Davis averaged 11.7 points and 4.2 rebounds in a career-high 78 games with the Celtics. Bass has averaged 7.7 points and 4.1 rebounds in his 336 games split between the Hornets, Mavs and Magic. Last year, Baas averaged 11.2 points and 5.6 rebounds in 76 games.

Davis is an unrestricted free agent, so the Celtics would likely complete a sign-and-trade to bring in Bass. Davis has played for the Celtics for his entire four-year career. In 277 games, Davis has averaged 7.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in Boston.

Chris Paul is on the trading block (shocking, I know), but with CP3's deal up at the end of the year and with Paul having announced his intentions to leave the New Orleans Hornets, it's completely understandable.

Still, the Hornets are trying to get the best deal they can for Paul, and for good reason. In six NBA seasons (all with the Hornets), Paul has averaged 18.7 points, 9.9 assists and 2.4 steals in 425 games. Superstar? You bet.

As of Thursday morning, the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly the most likely destinations for Paul in a trade. Boston general manager Danny Ainge's pursuit of Paul, who he would ultimately trade Rajon Rondo and others for, has been well publicized, despite Ainge's reaffirmation of faith in Rondo as the Celtics' point guard.

Various executives believe that the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers are thus the two most likely landing spots for Paul, but sources with knowledge of New Orleans' thinking said late Wednesday that the Hornets are prepared to wait for offers to improve, convinced that they they're getting low-ball proposals at this early stage of the process based on the external belief that they're so motivated to move Paul they will rush into a deal. (via ESPN)

The Celtics' current offer for Paul reportedly features Rondo, the rights to restricted free agent Jeff Green and two first-round draft picks, is the strongest offer according to ESPN. However, it would be a risky move for the Celtics.

The Celtics, sources say, are currently presenting the strongest offer, which features Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green and two first-round picks. As the Paul pursuer most willing to trade for the All-Star point guard with zero assurance that Paul will stay beyond this season, Boston is also trying to concoct multi-team scenarios that would help the Hornets come away with the package they desire for Paul, featuring at least one established veteran to help them stay relevant, one up-and-coming talent and draft picks.

That was the response from the Golden State Warriors, who reportedly rejected an offer from the Boston Celtics that would send Rajon Rondo to Oakland in exchange for fellow point guard Stephen Curry.

According to the report, Boston would have been nothing but a layover for Curry, who the Celtics would have attempted to barter to the New Orleans Hornets for point guard Chris Paul.

With that deal dead in the water, Boston is now packaging Rondo and forward Jeff Green along with two future first-round draft picks in its latest offer to the Hornets.
Chris Paul could be wearing a Celtics' uniform next season if Boston's trade talks with the New Orleans Hornets are successful. Boston is engaged in trade talks with the Hornets for Paul, but they are not alone. The Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors have also contacted New Orleans about their All-Star point guard, according to a report (via Adrian Wojnarowski's Twitter).

Paul reportedly has no intention of re-signing with the Hornets. Although it is not his choice to make, Paul said that he would like to be traded to the New York Knicks. One drawback for the Celtics in this offer battle: Adrian Wojnarowski also reported (via Twitter) that Paul might be inclined to stay long-term if the Clippers or Warriors were to sign Paul's old New Orleans teammate Tyson Chandler.

Rajon Rondo's agent Bill Duffy maintains that his client will remain with the Boston Celtics. Duffy was at the Celtics' practice facility today and talked with Boston general manager Danny Ainge about reports that Rondo could be traded for Chris Paul or someone else.

Duffy said about the meeting:

"I'm told that he's their guy," Duffy told the Herald. "There's been repeated interest in him, as there is in other players. But they have high expectations for Rajon now and moving forward." (via Boston Herald)

Duffy also said that the trade talk has been unsettling for Rondo, which is understandable if Rondo is indeed staying with the Celtics.

"It's just disturbing," said Duffy. "It's disturbing for everybody. It's disturbing for me. It's disturbing for him, because it makes one think, ‘Where do I stand in this relationship?' Particularly because he's a darn good player, and this is a very successful franchise, and he's one of the key players on the franchise."
