Boston College is off to a red-hot start this season, riding a five-game winning streak that built its record to 8-2 through ten games. As a result, the Eagles were rewarded with one vote in this week's AP Top 25 Poll.

The single vote can be viewed as a success in Chestnut Hill, as many predicted that Boston College would not sniff a national ranking at any point this season. That being said, the Eagles are still a good distance away from No. 25 Texas A&M, which received 105 votes this week.

Duke (10-0) stayed put in the top spot, receiving 1625 votes and all 65 first-place votes to lead the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Blue Devils were the only ranked team in the ACC, but others did receive votes. North Carolina received 21 votes while Boston College was the third and final team from the conference to receive a vote.

Ohio State (8-0) remained second in the poll with 1,547 votes. Kansas (9-0), which was ranked fourth last week, moved up one spot to third with 1,467 votes. Connecticut (8-0) moved up to fourth place from sixth place, receiving 1,343 votes.

The biggest drop-off was Pittsburgh (10-1), which fell to eight in the rankings with 1,137 votes after being ranked third last week. Michigan State (7-3), which was ranked seventh last week, fell seven spots to No. 14 after receiving 755 votes. Georgetown (9-1) received 722 votes and slipped toNo. 15 after eing ranked ninth one week ago.

Tennessee improved to No. 7 with 1,316 votes after being ranked 11th a week prior and No. 9 Baylor (6-0) moved up one spot from last week with 1,023 votes.
