The Boston Bruins trailed the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2 heading into the third period of Wednesday night's game. That's when Boston decided to turn it on, scoring five goals in the final frame for a furious, come-from-behind 7-4 win.

In all, 15 different Bruins recorded a point in the seven-goal explosion, with three players recording multi-point nights (Mark Recchi: 1 goal, 2 assists; Nathan Horton: 1 goal, 1 assist; and Patrice Bergeron: 2 assists). But as Stanley Cup of Chowder points out, it was hardly a complete game for Boston.

While this game will look like a romp in the boxscore, this was fair from a complete game for the B's. They were flat-out out-played for most of this game, but they were able put together a great third period. It is good to see that this team has some fight and can battle back [...]

One guy that struggled tonight was Mark Stuart. Stuart can take part of the blame for two of the Penguins' four goals. On the first goal, Stuart left Aaron Asham get behind him and camp out untouched right at the top of the crease. On Crosby's goal, the scoring should read "goal by Mark Stuart from Sidney Crosby". Stuart was one of three Boston skaters not to record a point tonight. He finished -1, while logging 18:32 of ice time.

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Shawn Thornton scored the tie-breaking goal during a furious five-goal third period rally that lifted to Boston to a 7-4 come-from-behind victory over Pittsburgh at CONSOL Energy Center.

Mark Recchi posted a goal and two assists against his former team while Milan Lucic, Nathan Horton, Blake Wheeler, Zdeno Chara and Brad Marchand all lit the lamp for the Bruins, who halted a two-game slide.

Sidney Crosby had a goal and two assists while Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang supplied a pair of helpers each for the Penguins, who fell to 2-5-0 at their new home.

The Boston Bruins return to action Wednesday night when they battle the Penguins in Pittsburgh, their fourth road contest in five games. Boston (7-3-1) will be looking to snap a mini two-game losing skid while Pittsburgh (7-7-1) is aiming for its first win at home since Oct. 18.

Also on the Bruins' minds Wednesday night will be the Penguins' Matt Cooke, and the hit he put on Marc Savard last March.

The hit left Savard with post-concussion syndrome which has never fully gone away -- Savard spent the summer with "a fog-filled brain and suffered from a crushing depression." And while Boston is saying a win is the most important goal Wednesday night, you can be sure they haven't forgotten, says CSNNE.com's Joe Haggerty.

"It's always going to be there, for sure," said Lucic. "I know Savvy is going to be home watching [the game on TV] closely. He's going to want us to win that game more than anything."

And revenge on Cooke?

"It's a physical game," said Lucic. "Things happen. We're not going to go out of our way to get somebody back, but, like I said, it's a physical game.

Savard briefly returned during the playoffs last season, but he hasn't played this year, as the team placed him on injured reserve Sep. 19 with post-concussion syndrome.

The Bruins are also currently without Savard's replacement, David Krejci, who's out with a "moderate concussion."

This will be Boston's first trip to Pittsburgh's new home, the Consol Energy Arena.
