The lawyer for Rogerio Rodrigues, the injured passenger involved in Tom Brady’s Thursday morning car crash, told Boston reporters today that his client took a turn for the worse over the weekend.

Samuel P. Reef told the Boston Herald’s Jessica Heslam that his client’s condition “worsened” over the weekend, and that he may require back surgery.

The back injury may not have originated with the crash, but may have been complicated by it, stated Reef. The crash occurred when Rodrigues’ son, Ludgero, was driving him to the doctor to have his back injury examined – leading to the back injury never being examined full pre-crash.

Reef mentioned that while Brady has not had direct contact with anyone within the Rodrigues family, he did have flowers sent to Rogerio.

Brady detailed the crash as being “Matrix like” during an appearance on WEEI Monday morning.

“When the cars hit, I saw all the glass kind of explode,” Brady told the Dennis and Callahan Show about the crash. “That was a scary morning for all of us. Man, wear your seat belts. That’s all I can tell everybody. You never know.”

The Boston Police, per their standard practice, released the accident report detailing the motor vehicle accident Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was in on their official news website, BPDNews.

The accident report confirms conflicting reports from the operator of the mini-van, Ludgero Rodrigues, and Brady, with each claiming that they had the green light in their respective streets.

A female pedestrian victim, however, recalled to police that she and her dogs had a walk signal on Commonwealth Avenue, which would give Brady the green light to continue down Gloucester Street.

The pedestrian – a portion of the story largely touched upon up until this point – was knocked down by the force of the collision, and came close to having the traffic light strike her. She refused medical treatment at the scene.

The report also clears up who the “Jaws of Life” were used for – a passenger in the mini-van who suffered severe injuries and was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

The report also mentions that Rodrigues was subsequently cited by police for failure to stop at a red light.

While Tom Brady is okay and fully participated in the Patriots' practice Thursday afternoon, it's important to remember that there was still a car accident this morning -- one that involved three other people, one of whom was injured and taken to the hospital.

Late this afternoon, what appears to be a cellphone video surfaced on TMZ.com, showing the scene, the injured passenger in the van and a seemingly calm Brady just moments after the accident occurred.

As was expected, Tom Brady joined the Patriots for practice Thursday afternoon at Gillette Stadium, hours after being involved in a car accident early in the morning in Boston.

He showed no signs of an injuries, though somewhat strangely, he was the only player to keep his helmet on during the team stretching portion of practice.

A full report, from CSNNE.com's Danny Picard:

Brady was participating in pre-workout sprints, and was also throwing short passes down field to his receivers, with no visual restrictions, and a towel under his left arm that he's used to help with his mechanics. it should also be noted that during the afternoon practice, Brady was extremely vocal with his teammates, and seemingly pumped up for Sunday's Week 1 game with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Tom Brady was at Gillette Stadium Thursday morning, just hours after he was involved in a two-car accident in Boston, and is expected to practice with the Patriots Thursday afternoon.

Brady was seen shuffling in and out of team meetings, between which he told the team's Twitter that he was "ok."

Additionally, RB Kevin Faulk confirmed that Brady was on the field for the team's walk-through, saying, "He was there."

Other teammates are decidedly not taking Brady's accident as seriously as others may be. Said Matt Light: "It's just a car accident, people." And Stephen Neal said he was surprised it was "such a big deal," joking that he was concerned more about the condition of Brady's Audi.

Rookie TE Rob Gronkowksi, though, approached the situation with perhaps a more appropriate level of sincerity: "We're just all thankful that he's fine. ... Obviously it's a shock, no matter who it is."

WCVB-TV in Boston also has more details regarding the accident:

Witnesses said Brady was crossing Gloucester Street in his Audi and was broadsided by another vehicle, possibly a passenger van, that was speeding on Commonwealth Avenue and ran a red light, pushing Brady's vehicle into a utility pole in the 6:30 a.m. crash.

Brady is currently on his way to work after refusing medical attention.
