<p>BOSTON (<a target="_blank" href="http://www.sbnation.com/mlb/events/53244/recap/105875">Sports Network</a>) - <span class="sbn-auto-link"><span>David Ortiz</span></span> hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the fifth inning to propel the <span class="sbn-auto-link">Red Sox</span> to a 6-4 victory over the <span class="sbn-auto-link"><a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/mlb/teams/OAK">Athletics</a></span>.</p>
<p>Ortiz, who was awarded the American League Player of the Month for May earlier in the day, went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two walks for Boston, which has won four in a row, including the first two of this three-game set.</p>
<p><span class="sbn-auto-link">Marco Scutaro</span> scored twice and drove in another run during a three-hit effort, while <span class="sbn-auto-link">Daisuke Matsuzaka</span> (4-2) battled through 6 2/3 innings, scattering 10 hits and allowing three runs -- all in the first inning -- to get the win.</p>
<p><span class="sbn-auto-link"><span>Ben Sheets</span></span> (2-4) was saddled with the loss, yielding four runs on seven hits and a walk in six frames for Oakland. <span class="sbn-auto-link"><span>Kurt Suzuki</span></span> went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the loss, the club's third in four games.</p>
