Wide receiver Donte' Stallworth is happy to be back in the NFL and with the New England Patriots. The Patriots signed Stallworth on Monday to replace Julian Edelman, who was placed on injured reserve.
Stallworth was with the Patriots this preseason, but was released during the last round of roster cuts. Stallworth played for the Patriots in 2007 and has played with six different teams over the course of his NFL career. Stallworth was happy to be back on an NFL roster, and particularly happy to be back on a team he knows. "I have a lot of love for this organization, and have a lot of friends on this team, so to say I was excited is probably an accurate assessment," Stallworth said.
Despite Stallworth's familiarity with the the Patriots, he said he has a lot of work to do to become 100% familiar with the playbook. In his nine years, Stallworth has caught 320 passes for 4,774 yards and 34 touchdowns.
