The New England Patriots listed 18 players as limited in practice on Wednesday, and among them was tight end Rob Gronkowski. Gronk returned to practice for the first time since breaking his arm on Friday of last week, but did not play in the Pats loss to the 49ers. It is unknown if he will try to play when the Patriots take on the Jaguars on Sunday.
Quarterback Tom Brady did not participate in practice with a right shoulder injury. Brady attempted 65 passes against the 49ers on Sunday night and is likely just getting a rest; expect him to play against the Jags. Linebacker Mike Rivera missed practice due to an ankle injury he suffered on Sunday.
The other Patriots limited on Wednesday were safety Patrick Chung (shoulder), offensive lineman Dan Connolly (back), cornerback Alfonzo Dennard (hamstring/knee), tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle), linebacker Dont'a Hightower (hamstring/shoulder), defensive end Chandler Jones (ankle), wide receiver Brandon Lloyd (knee), defensive lineman Kyle Love (knee), guard Logan Mankins (ankle/calf), linebacker Jerod Mayo (linebacker), offensive lineman Nick McDonald (shoulder), tacke Nate Solder (abdomen), linebacker Brandon Spikes (knee/ankle), cornerback Aqib Talib (hip), tackle Sebastian Vollmer (back/knee), wide receiver Wes Welker (ankle) and linebacker Tracy White (elbow). Dennard injured his knee on Sunday against the 49ers and did not return to the game, but was able to participate in practice in a limited capacity.
