The New England Patriots will host the NFC West-leading San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night in Gillette Stadium.
New England comes in riding high after beating the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football, 42-14, last week. The Patriots came out with passion and crushed Houston into its second loss of the year, all while proving they can play a little bit of defense too.
Tom Brady looked like he usually does, throwing four touchdown passes, including two to tight end Aaron Hernandez, who had his first multi-touchdown game since his rookie season.
The 49ers took care of business in a more low-key fashion last week, beating the Miami Dolphins, 27-13, at Candlestick Park to remain atop their division. Colin Kaepernick will see his second Monday-night start, with his first being a rousing success over the Chicago Bears a month ago.
The Patriots don't have any real injury concerns other than Rob Gronkowski still being unavailable. For San Francisco, Mario Manningham is questionable with a shoulder issue.
