Winners of 15 of their last 19 meetings with the New York Jets, the New England Patriots will visit East Rutherford, N.J.'s MetLife Stadium on Thanksgiving night for a key AFC East showdown. Despite an injury to tight end Rob Gronkowski, sports books installed the Pats as seven-point favorites on the road.
New England will try to extend their three-game lead on the Jets and the rest of the AFC East. The Jets, along with the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills, sit at 4-6 through the first 11 weeks of the season, while the Patriots have compiled a 7-3 record, helped by their current four-game winning streak.
In a meeting earlier this season, the Jets forced overtime on the road, but did eventually fall to the Patriots, 29-26. The Jets are coming off a solid victory over the St. Louis Rams in which quarterback Mark Sanchez threw for a touchdown and was an efficient 15-of-20 on pass attempts.
