It's not often that a team riding a four-game winning streak are double-digit underdogs, but the New England Patriots are big favorites against the Indianapolis Colts.
New England has been favored in every game this season, beating the spread in five of their nine games thus far. Sunday's matchup pits two teams that have won five or their last six games against each other. Apparently, bookmakers don't think that the Colts' wins over Cleveland, Tennessee, Miami, and Jacksonville stack up with New England's, although the Pats last three wins are against the Jets, St. Louis, and Buffalo. Although Andrew Luck has been great, the Colts have been led by defense, allowing 20 or less points in each of the games in their current winning streak, less than 13 three times.
The Pats are between 9- and 10-point favorites against Indianapolis on Sunday. New England hasn't exactly looked great in their three appearances as a double-digit favorite this year: they've lost against the spread all three times, and actually lost straight-up to Arizona in Week 2, falling 20-18 despite being 13-point favoirtes.
