The unfriendly confines of Seattle's CenturyLink Field will host the New England Patriots this afternoon as they face the Seahawks at 4:05 p.m. on CBS.
The Patriots are coming off of a 31-21 win over Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos last week, a game which saw halfback Stevan Ridley rush for 151 yards and a touchdown and receiver Wes Welker haul in 13 catches for 104 yards and a touchdown.
The Seahawks too are coming off of a win, having beaten the Carolina Panthers 16-12. In that game, the Seattle defense stepped up to stop Cam Newton and the Carolina offense.
This game is a classic matchup of an offensively oriented team facing a defensively oriented team, with New England bettering Seattle in most team offensive statistical categories and vice versa. If Seattle can do to New England what it did to Green Bay, namely pressure Tom Brady and stall most Patriots drives, the Seahawks should be able to come out victorious. On the other hand, if New England can score the way they were able to do against Denver, Seattle may have a tough time matching that offensive output.
