Patriots vs. Bills 2012: Stevan Ridley, Brandon Bolden excel in running game

The New England Patriots have earned a reputation of a team that throws the ball early and often with Tom Brady at the helm, but Sunday's game against the Bills incorporated the ground game like many have never seen before. For the first time in nearly three decades, the Patriots had two running backs with upwards of 100 yards on the ground.

SB Nation's Patriots blog, Pats Pulpit, took a look at a few things that stuck out during Week 4. Here is what they had to say about the performances from Stevan Ridley and Brandon Bolden, and what it could mean moving forward:

How awesome is this? Stevan Ridley (106 yards) and Brandon Bolden (137) ran for 100-plus yards in the same game.

You can't get much better than that.

New England's ground-attack was simply unstoppable Sunday afternoon as the team finished with 247 total rushing yards on 40 carries which averages out to an impressive 6.2 yards per-carry.

If New England can run the ball like this each and every week, then it will be impossible to stop this offense.

Among the other topics that stood out: Tom Brady looking like his old self, Wes Welker breaking out and Stephen Gostkowski's kicking concerns starting to mount. It was a big weekend for New England, and now they'll look to continue their winning ways against the Peyton Manning and the Broncos in Week 5.
