New England Revolution Sign Two Colombian Players

The New England Revolution signed a pair of Colombian internationals from América de Cali yesterday.

The Revs added central defender John Lozano and midfielder/forward Fernando Cárdenas. Terms of their contracts were not disclosed, but both players will count as international players. Lozano has scored two goals in 37 appearances for the Colombian side. Cárdenas made 12 appearances for América de Cali and scored one goal in 2011.

Revolution general manager Michael Burns said about the signings

"Both John and Fernando have experience playing in Colombia's top division, both with and against some of CONCACAF's top club teams," Revolution General Manager Michael Burns said. "Lozano is a strong central defender who reads the game well, and Cárdenas is a creative player who we believe has the tools to help us in the attacking half of the field. We expect that both players will have significant roles on our team this season." (via Revolution Soccer.net)
