The 2012 NFL season begins at 8:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, when the New York Giants host the Dallas Cowboys on NBC. The league's other 30 teams must wait until Sunday or Monday to get under way.
The New England Patriots begin their quest to get back to the Super Bowl by traveling to Nashville, where they will open the season against second-year quarterback Jake Locker and the Tennessee Titans at 1 p.m. EDT on CBS. The last time the Patriots played the Titans, they put up an impressive 59-0 shutout at Gillette Stadium on Oct. 18, 2009.
