Very few doubt the New England Patriots will leave their Week 2 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals with yet another victory, especially amongst NFL pickers.
The Patriots are predicted to win by two touchdowns, and were picked in a clean sweep across the major prediction sites, with all pickers at ESPN, CBS and Yahoo siding with New England. All six pickers at USA Today took it a step further, not only picking the Pats but also giving the game their "lock" of the week designation. Also siding with New England were ESPN and CBS algorithms and the majority of users in ESPN and Yahoo pick'em pools.
Here's what SB Nation's Joel Thorman had to say in his Week 2 NFL picks post:
The real question here is whether the Patriots will cover as a 14-point favorite. If I was the oddsmaker I'd put this line at 28. Patriots win in a rout in their home opener.
The Pick: 45-17, Patriots
It's never a good idea to overlook an opponent, but with the Pats being given the biggest spread in the league this week, they're a safe pick to win.
