The New England Patriots went through Wednesday's practice with several players limited and G Dan Connolly sitting out after suffering a head injury in the Pats' Week 1 game against the Tennessee Titans. The Patriots missed Connolly, but were happy to see the return of RB Shane Vereen, who was a limited participant in practice for the first time since injuring his foot on Aug. 24.
Also limited in practice on Wednesday were CB Alfonzo Dennard (hamstring), CB Sterling Moore (knee), TE Daniel Fells (shin), OL Nick McDonald (shoulder), and OT Sebastian Vollmer (back). Safety Patrick Chung (shoulder) was a full participant.
The Patriots' Sunday opponent, the Arizona Cardinals, have had their own share of injuries starting with starting QB John Skelton, who left their Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks with an ankle injury and did not participate in Wednesday's practice. All-Pro safety Adrian Wilson was limited with his own ankle injury, while CB Jamell Fleming (shoulder) and LB O'Brien Schofield (knee) were also limited. RB Beanie Wells (knee), G Adam Snyder (elbow), and CB Greg Toler (hip) were full participants for the Cardinals.
