Patriots Training Camp 2012: Logan Mankins Among Six Placed On Active/PUP List

New England Patriots left guard Logan Mankins was among six Pats players to land on the active/physically unable to perform list on Monday (via ESPN Boston).

Mankins had surgery in February to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. Following the surgery it was uncertain if he would be able to return in time for training camp, which begins on Thursday. Being placed on the active/PUP list means that Mankins can be removed at any time. The team still has a month to decide if Mankins needs to go on the reserve/PUP list. If he makes the reserve/PUP list, Mankins would miss at least the first six regular season games.

In addition to Mankins, linebacker Brandon Spikes, offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer, defensive tackle Myron Pryor, and tight ends Daniel Fells and Jake Ballard were on the active/PUP list. Tight End Rob Gronkowski was not on the list for his injured ankle which is good news regarding his ability to start training camp on time.
