Chad Ochocinco Will Reportedly Be Released By New England Patriots

Chad Ochocinco's disappointing career with the New England Patriots has come to an end. Ochocinco, who only had 15 catches in 15 games last season, has reportedly been released by the team after they could not successfully trade him.

After one year of disappointment and mediocrity, the New England Patriots have reportedly decided to cut ties with wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, as the team will release him after not being able to trade him, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Ochocinco was traded to the Patriots for fifth round and sixth round draft picks last July, but the social media happy wideout had a very disappointing season in New England in 2011, racking up 15 catches and one touchdown in 15 games, only three of which he started. Reports surfaced earlier on Thursday that Ochocinco had left the Patriots practice facility to go to an eye doctor, but Schefter later reported that Ochocinco was being cut from the team.
