NFL Free Agency Rumors 2012: Dallas Clark Visits New England Patriots

The New England Patriots already have two of the top pass-catching tight ends in the National Football League. And they might be looking to add another tight end with a long resume of receptions.

According to Shalise M. Young of the Boston Globe, former Indianapolis Colts tight end Dallas Clark was in Foxborough on Tuesday to visit with the Patriots.

The NFL Network reports that no deal is imminent and the Patriots are just putting in "due diligence" to determine how much Clark can still produce and whether he would be open to joining the club.

The 33-year old Clark was long considered one of the league's best pass-catching tight ends, but has suffered through two consecutive injury-riddled seasons. He managed 34 catches for 352 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games with a miserable Colts team in 2011, but his skills have lessened to the point where at least one scout questioned whether Clark is "done."
