After signing a franchise tender to remain with the New England Patriots this season, Wes Welker called the move a leap of faith.
I signed my tender today. I love the game and I love my teammates! Hopefully doing the right thing gets the right results. #leapoffaith

By calling it a leap of faith, Welker is likely referring to his decision to sign the one-year tender rather than wait for a long-term deal. He and the Patriots still have until June 16 to agree to a longer contract. On that date, if they haven't come to a further agreement, Welker's franchise tender will be locked in for the remainder of the season.
Welker caught 122 passes for 1,569 yards and nine touchdowns last season.
