In Sports Illustrated's latest 2012 NFL Mock Draft, Don Banks projects -- like so many mock drafters have before him -- that the New England Patriots will use both their first round picks to shore up their defense.
Banks has the Patriots selecting former Syracuse defensive end Chandler Jones with with 27th pick and former UConn defensive tackle Kendall Reyes with the 31st pick.
Both players would be prized by the Patriots for their versatility and both play on the defensive line, where the Patriots could use some additional depth and play-making ability. Jones would be a surprise in the first round -- the National Football Post ranks him No. 141 on its NFL Draft Big Board -- but the Patriots will surely be looking for pieces to improve their defense.
