2012 NFL Draft Results, Round 7: Alfonzo Dennard Picked By New England Patriots, No. 224 Overall

With the 17th pick in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots have selected defensive back, Alfonzo Dennard, from Nebraska.

ESPN Scouts Inc., ranked Dennard as the 14th best cornerback in the draft, and the 106th best prospect overall, so it appears the Pats got themselves some value in the seventh round.

The National Football Post had Dennard ranked even higher – their 10th best cornerback. Here's what they had to say in their scouting report:

He's strong/feisty, can press off the line and turn and run. Needs to clean up some technical flaws both in press and off the line, which hinders his balance. But can be a guy who could start both on the outside and in the slot at the next level.
