NFL Draft 2012: Patriots 'Love' Boston College's Luke Kuechly

Luke Kuechly is a hot commodity in the 2012 NFL Draft, which kicks off at 8 p.m. EST on Thursday night (ESPN). Kuechly, the linebacker out of Boston College, is a projected top 15 pick, so it's not surprising that teams would love him. But could Kuechly wind up staying in the area and playing for our very own New England Patriots?

#Patriots fans want me to blow your mind? Know who they love? #BC LB Luke Kuechly. Probably won't go up & get him. But love him

Really, what's not to love? Kuechly was widely considered the best collegiate linebacker last season, and he put up the numbers to prove it. Kuechly led the nation in total tackles (191) and solo stops (102) and received the Butkus Award, the Lombardi Award, the Lott IMPACT Trophy and the Bronko Nagurski Award, among other honors.

Unfortunately, as Ian Rapoport pointed out, it's unlikely that the Pats will move up to get him. New England has 27th and 31st overall picks, but rumors indicate that the Pats have been in discussions with the Seattle Seahawks about moving up to the No. 12 pick. Who really knows? Anything is possible with Bill Belichick.
