2012 NFL Mock Draft: New England Patriots Seven Round Mock Selections

With the 2012 NFL Draft rapidly approaching, mock drafts are being fired out at warp speed.

This of course is all fun and gives everyone something to talk about until Mr. Goodell walks up to the podium and announces "With the first pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select..."

Then the real thing has begun and all the mocks are cast aside. Alas, we're not at that point yet. So it's time to appreciate the work of Chad Reuter of NFL.com, who provides us with a can-you-handle-it seven round blowout.

Without further hyperbole, the New England Patriots picks:

1st Round: Courtney Upshaw - OLB/DE - Alabama

1st Round:Kendall Reyes - DT - UCONN

2nd Round:Janoris Jenkins - CB - North Alabama

2nd Round: Lamar Miller - RB - Miami (FL)

3rd Round: Ryan Broyles - WR - Oklahoma

4th Round: No Pick

5th Round: No Pick

6th Round: No Pick

7th Round: No Pick

This would be a great draft for New England in many ways.

First of all, Upshaw and Reyes would absolutely fortify the front seven which has been lacking for years now. Upshaw provides versatility which is something Bill Belichick is always looking for.

Miller would provide nice competition to Stevan Ridley and perhaps both of them could form a nice tandem behind Tom Brady.

Broyles was hurt badly last year for the Sooners, but if he's healthy he could really be a great pick. Broyles has ability and on a team looking for receivers he could fit in nicely.
