The New England Patriots have reportedly agreed to terms kicker Chris Koepplin (via ESPN Boston).

After being signed as a rookie free agent last July, Koepplin kicked with the Patriots last preseason while starting kicker Stephen Gostkowski was recovering from quad surgery. Koepplin was released by the Patriots following the preseason. He had 14 kickoffs and six touchbacks during the 2011 preseason.
It's highly unlikely that the Pats will carry two kickers next season. Gostkowski is still under contract and will earn $2.1 million for the 2012 season.
Koepplin kicked for UMass in college and finished his career in 2007 as the school's career leader in PAT percentage (98%) and is second on the school's list for field goal percentage (71%).
