Patriots Free Agency Rumors 2012: Brandon Lloyd 'Very Interested' In New England Patriots

The New England Patriots certainly possess a high-powered offense, but they've missed a downfield threat wide receiver since trading Randy Moss early during the 2010 season. Could Brandon Lloyd be the answer?

The free agent receiver, who played with the St. Louis Rams and Denver Broncos this past season, told CSNNE's Tom E. Curran he would consider signing with New England.

"Very interested. And like I said earlier, I admire Coach Bill (Belichick), I admire Tom Brady, I admire how they run things over there. For any receiver to be considered to come in and play on the New England Patriots is gonna be excited just because of the history of success."

The Patriots hired Josh McDaniels for his second stint as the team's offensive coordinator, which could help lure Lloyd; the two forged a relationship when both were in Denver.

Lloyd totaled 70 catches for 966 yards and five touchdowns last season.
