The NFL recently passed several rule changes, but one specifically dealt with instant replay. While the result of reviews will remain the call of the referee on the field, that referee will also be charged with determining whether or not a turnover occurred on a play. Yes, all turnovers will be subject to a booth review using replay.
Former Patriots player Steve DeOssie stopped by CSNNE's Sports Tonight to talk about the issue. DeOssie's main concern is that the NFL refuses to hire and train full-time referees on the field and employees to put in the replay booths. As far as reviewing the turnovers goes, DeOssie feels that is just another sign that the league is catering to the fans to make sure there is as little controversy about results as possible.
