Patriots Offseason 2012: New England Reportedly Hires Chris Simms

The New England Patriots have hired former NFL quarterback Chris Simms, according to a report.

It is not known at this time what position Simms has been hired to fill in the Patriots' organzation. Simms has no previous coaching experience.

After playing for the University of Texas, Simms was drafted in the 3rd Round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Simms played for the Buccaneers, Titans and Broncos during his eight-year career. His main season as a starter came in 2005 for Tampa Bay.

Simms' father Phil Simms played for the New York Giants from 1979-1993 while Pats head coach Bill Belichick was an assistant (1979-1990).
