The New England Patriots announced the signings of free agents Marquice Cole and Trevor Scott on Monday (via Patriots). The terms of Cole and Scott's contracts were not disclosed.
Cole, a defensive back, played for the past three seasons with the New York Jets as a special teams player. Cole was undrafted in 2007 but was signed by the Raiders and then bounced around on the practice squads of the Titans and Saints before getting a chance to play in New York in 2009. Cole has made 40 tackles (32 solo) and has 2 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) during his career.
Scott, a defensive end, was drafted in the 6th Round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Raiders. In four seasons, Scott has 97 tackles (77 solo), 13.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
