Super Bowl XLVI Was Third Most-Watched Super Bowl Of All Time

Super Bowl XLVI was the third most-watched NFL season finale of all time, as the epic rematch between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots (which New York won 21-17 on Eli Manning's game-winning drive) drew a 47.8 rating. This year's Super Bowl was just one tenth of a point off of last year's game between the Packers and Steelers.

In Boston, it was the most watched NFL game ever, pulling a 56.7 rating. For reference, a rating represents a percentage of houses with televisions in a given market that were viewing the game. Boston led all markets included in the ratings, while New York came in 18th with a 49.7, which was the second highest Super Bowl rating for the city.
