The official Super Bowl XLVI attendance has been released and in a stadium that holds 73,000, only 68,658 of the seats are filled. This is somewhat surprising considering the much anticipated rematch of Super Bowl XLII between the Giants and Patriots, both supported by major market cities.
Tonight's attendance: 68,658. Small crowd for a Super Bowl
As the Patriots lead the Giants by only two points nearing the end of the third quarter, those 68,585 look like their in for a big finish to the big game.
