After recording two interceptions including a pick-six last Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots safety Sterling Moore earned the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week award with his performance.
Moore, 21, had a big afternoon with the Patriots on Sunday, as his interception return for a touchdown off a pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick effectively stalled and ended a Buffalo Bills against a struggling Patriot defense. With these honors, Moore became the first New England Patriot to earn the honor of Rookie of the Week this season and was the first undrafted player to win Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week honors this season.
This season has been quite a ride for Moore in his first season out of Southern Methodist University. He has spent time on both the Patriots 53-man roster as well as their practice squad. In six games with the Patriots this season, Moore has seven tackles to go along with his pair of interceptions he got last Sunday.
