Super Bowl 2012, Tom Brady: Not Taking Opportunity For Granted

When Tom Brady takes the field against the New York Giants on Sunday, he will be starting in the fifth Super Bowl of his career. He refuses to rest on his laurels, however, especially when it comes to how he performed against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game. On Monday, he clarified what he meant when he said he "sucked" after the win.

"There's nothing that correlates more to winning than turnover ratio," Brady said. "I think coach Belichick said when you're minus-two in turnovers, you have a 17 percent chance of winning in the playoffs. When you think about that, you pretty much escaped. Yeah, we won, but it's not going to happen - it's 17 percent of the time, and I'm responsible for that. So, when you're sitting on the sideline and watching Baltimore go down the field at the end of the game, you're thinking, 'I blew this game for us because of those two plays.'"

With a win, Brady would tie Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana for the most Super Bowl wins by a quarterback with four. While Brady understands the hard work that goes into making it this far in the playoffs, he also understands that luck plays a part as well.

"Last year, I thought we had a great team, and we lose in the divisional round of the playoffs," Brady said. "Green Bay had a pretty damn good team this year, and they lost in the divisional round. You can have a great team. You need some things to go your way, too. Ultimately, the thing we can control is playing good.

"I'm not taking this for granted. I'm enjoying every second of it. The opportunity to play this game, to represent the Patriots, I don't take that for granted."
