Good news for Rob Gronkowski! Well, sort of. The New England Patriots tight end is expected to play in the 2012 Super Bowl this Sunday, however he likely will not practice prior to the game according to Pro Football Talk. Gronkowski is confirmed to be suffering from a high ankle sprain, and will likely undergo surgery following the showdown against the New York Giants.
The news is good news for both teams in some sense. On one hand, Tom Brady will have the full use of his entire corps of passing targets. On the other, the Giants won't be facing Gronkowski at anything approaching full strength. It remains to be seen just how rusty he will be come Sunday. Gronkowski's impact may make all the difference.
