Super Bowl 2012: Sterling Moore: Defending Giants Receivers 'A Big Challenge'

If Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Lee Evans was literally one foot away from ending the New England Patriots' 2011 season and propelling his team to the Super Bowl. However, just before getting his second foot down on a certain go ahead touchdown with a few seconds left in the game, Patriots safety Sterling Moore was able to knock the ball out of Evans' hands and prevent the TD. Of course we all know what happened after that.

Now that his Patriots are safely in the Super Bowl, Moore and the rest of the New England secondary have a new task at hand in defending the three headed monster of Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham and Victor Cruz of the Giants. Moore acknowledges it won't be an easy task at all.

"It's a challenge. It's a big challenge but that's what we want. Going into this game, we want them all to be healthy; we want them all to be at their best. That's just the type of game we want. It's going to be a struggle but that's what the films are for. We're going to have to do a great job on the film and go out there and play them tough." (via Patriots.com)

As for the rest of the preparations, Moore sees strong advantages to practicing at home in Gillette Stadium before traveling Indianapolis, Indiana for the Super Bowl. For Moore, it's good to be away from possible distractions as much as he can.

"I think it's big. There are going to be a lot of distractions in Indy. We're going to try to limit those. Right now is really the time to grasp what the Giants are doing and what our schemes are. Now is the time to really get it down." (via Patriots.com)
