Giants Vs. 49ers Final Score: New York To Meet New England Patriots In Super Bowl After 20-17 OT Win Over San Francisco

Kyle Williams overtook Billy Cundiff for biggest screw up of the day, as the second-year received fumble the ball away on a punt return in overtime, leading to the game-winning 31-yard field goal from Lawrence Tynes to lead the New York Giants past the San Francisco 49ers, 20-17, in overtime in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday afternoon in San Francisco.

Eli Manning threw for 316 yards and two touchdowns en route to his fifth road win in the postseason, which is an NFL record. New York overcame a 14-10 deficit late in the third quarter and put up 10 points from the fourth quarter one while allowing just three points on a David Akers field goal, which at the time tied the game at 17-17 with 5:39 to play in the fourth. Victor Cruz, a graduate of UMass, had 142 receiving yards on 10 catches in the win for New York.

Alex Smith performed admirably, throwing for 196 yards and two touchdowns to lead San Francisco. Frank Gore rushed for 74 yards on 16 carries and Vernon Davis racked up 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns on three catches.

New York will now face New England in the Super Bowl on February 5 in Indianapolis.
