The New England Patriots advanced to their 7th Super Bowl when Baltimore Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff missed a field goal which would have tied the contest near the end of regulation in the AFC Championship Game. The seven Super Bowls is the third-most behind the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers.
The miss wrapped up a 23-20 win for the Patriots. Ravens players couldn't believe it.
The game-winning score came on a Tom Brady 1-yard touchdown leap. The Ravens had their chances to win or tie the game after the Brady touchdown but missed on the Cundiff field goal, which was their best shot.
The appearance in the Super Bowl will be the 5th for Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, which ties him with former Denver Bronco John Elway for the most appearances by a starting quarterback.
