The New England Patriots and Denver Broncos have played one of the least competitive NFL playoff games in recent memory on this Saturday night. The Patriots, behind Tom Brady's six touchdown passes, have built an unassailable 45-10 lead, and the only things left on the line for either team were records and pride.
Tom Brady's punt from the shotgun on third down may have hurt the Broncos' pride, because Von Miller started a fight seconds before it was downed. First, video of Brady's punt, which was actually very nice.
It traveled 48 yards, giving Brady a better punting average for the night than the Patriots' starting punter, Zoltan Mesko, who has two punts for 78 yards.
The fight was somewhat less amusing.
It's hard to see in the video, but Miller starts it by taking a cheap shot late in the punt.
Flags flew, but no players were ejected. Perhaps that was punishment enough for the Broncos who trailed by 35 points at that juncture.
