Rex Ryan decreed that his New York Jets would win the Super Bowl before the beginning of the season. Well, sorry New York, but that's not going to happen. Maybe next year Rexy?
New York was defeated by the Miami Dolphins, 19-17, on Sunday to eliminate the Jets from the playoff hunt. Mark Sanchez threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw three interceptions. Sanchez and the Jets brought themselves within two points after a 10-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Turner with 1:15 left, but couldn't get closer.
As Patriots fans, this is always fun to see. Watching Rex Ryan, Mark Sanchez, Darrelle Revis and the J-E-T-S JETS, JETS, JETS fall flat on their backs is almost as good as seeing the New England Patriots win it all. Almost. Still, it would have been nice to beat up on the Jets and their pride (if they even have any) in the playoffs. Regardless, the Pats will manage.
New England wrapped up the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC with a 49-21 blowout win over the Buffalo Bills. Tom Brady finished the season with over 5,000 yards passing and 39 touchdown tosses. In short, it's a great time to be a Pats fan.
