NFL Draft 2011 Results: Analyzing The Patriots' Picks With ESPN's Michael Smith

The New England Patriots have done what they've always done through the first two days of the 2011 NFL Draft: make questionable draft decisions and trade away picks. ESPN's Michael Smith breaks down the first three rounds for Bill Belichick and the Patriots.

Smith points out that the selection of Ryan Mallett was the sixth time the Patriots drafted a quarterback in the Tom Brady era. His reasoning? It's just good business. After all, the Patriots did take a chance on Brady late in the draft when they still had starting quarterback Drew Bledsoe.
