2011 NFL Draft Results: Patriots Select Ras-I Dowling At No. 33 Overall

Ras-I Dowling has been drafted by the New England Patriots with the first pick in the second round (No. 33 overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft on Friday afternoon at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Dowling, a cornerback from the University of Virginia, totaled 159 tackles, eight interceptions and three forced fumbles in four seasons with the Cavaliers. In 2010, Dowling totaled just 15 tackles (12 solo).

The 6'2", 200-pound defensive back missed the majority of his senior season due to a knee injury, but it apparently wasn't that big of a deal for Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.
