Super Bowl XLV: Start Time, Announcers, History And More

Finally, the preview and predications are nearly done, giving way to the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV, set for a start time of 6:29 p.m. EST.   

Date/Time: Sunday, February 6, 2011. The official Super Bowl XLV start time is 6:29 p.m. EST. (Pre-game shows start around 5 a.m.)

Network/Announcers: FOX; Joe Buck and Troy Aikman have the call from the booth, with Pam Oliver and Chris Meyers on the sidelines.

Teams: NFC's Green Bay Packers (10-6) against the AFC's Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4).

Odds: Packers remain a 3-point favorite at Bodog.

Location: Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas.

Series History: The Packers lead the all-time series with the Steelers, 18-14, though 10 of those wins came in their first 14 meetings. Since 1975, Pittsburgh is 7-2 against Green Bay, including three straight wins, most recently in 2009

Super Bowl History: Super Bowl XLV is a matchup of two of the NFL's more storied franchises. Not only will this be the Packers' fifth Super Bowl (3-1 all-time, with wins in the first two Super Bowls, when it was played between the AFL and NFL), but they also won nine NFL Championships before the Super Bowl existed.

For Pittsburgh, this is their eighth Super Bowl (6-1 all-time), and their third in the past six seasons. The Steelers won four titles between 1974 and 1979, lost to the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XXX and then won Super Bowl XL and XLIII with Ben Roethlisberger.
