Casino In Foxboro? Patriots Owner Robert Kraft Pushing Hard For It

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is making a strong push to build the first casino in Massachusetts nearby Patriot Place in Foxborough, MA. Kraft is teaming with casino mogul Steve Wynn in effort to construct a casino in the area.

Kraft, who has brought the Patriots to new heights as the team's owner, stressed the importance of job creation and the benefit that his proposed casino would have on the surrounding community.

I see this as a great job creator which brings tremendous benefits to the schools, the social services of the community. Those are the facts, so we just have to get the message out. If it's not well received, or not believed or not felt it's good, then we'll move on," Kraft said. (via TheBostonChannel.com)

Wynn noted the importance of building a casino that is unique to Foxboro, and nowhere else.

"The first thing we have to do is tell the truth about what we intend to build which is something that's scaled and appropriate for Foxborough and doesn't exist anywhere else, let alone in Connecticut or Massachusetts or New York, " Wynn said.

The proposed casino would reportedly cost $1 billion and be constructed on a 200-acre area across from Patriot Place. Massachusetts Governor Davel Patrick signed a bill in October that allows three "resort-style" casinos to build, as well as one slot parlor, in the state.
