Patriots Release Taylor Price, Add Nick McDonald From Practice Squad

In a surprising move, the New England Patriots have announced that they have decided to release second-year wide receiver Taylor Price from their roster. In a corresponding move, the team has added offensive lineman Nick McDonald from the Practice Squad to take Price's place on the roster.

Price, to this point, has not been able to get it going on the field. He had yet to catch a pass in 2011 in just three games total played. The former third round pick out of Ohio University has battled several injuries, keeping him from ever being a true factor in the Patriots' offense.

With Price off the roster, the Patriots' receiving core will now contain Wes Welker, Deion Branch, Chad Ochocinco, Matthew Slater, and newly signed Tiquan Underwood. As for the addition of McDonald, the Patriots now have an extra depth at the tackle position with Sebastian Vollmer out for this Sunday's game against the Colts
