Super Bowl Saturday 2011, WMass Division III: Mount Greylock Defeats Lee, 16-0

Mount Greylock applied the finishing touches to an undefeated season on Super Bowl Saturday, shutting out Lee to earn a 16-0 victory at Westfield State University.

Kent Hanson scored on a one-yard plunge with 23 seconds remaining in the second quarter and Ethan Ryan ran for the two-point conversion. The lone touchdown would have been enough for Mount Greylock's stingy defense, but Ryan added another touchdown and two-point conversion with 1:31 left.

The win was Mount Greylock's 26th straight and completed a 12-0 season. The Mounties outscored opponents 296-38 for the season, winning the Western Massachusetts Division III Super Bowl for the second consecutive year.

Mount Greylock had previously beaten Lee 28-14 on Oct. 7. The 14 points scored by Lee in October were the most Mount Greylock surrendered in a single game all season.

Lee made its first postseason appearance since 1994.
