Eric Moore Released By New England

Eric Moore, a defensive lineman who was signed by the New England Patriots on Dec. 10, 2011, has been released by the team, according to an announcement on the team's website.

Moore played in the last two games against the Denver Broncos and the Washington Redskins for the Pats. In those two games, Moore did not record a tackle. Moore was also with the Patriots in 2010, playing in four games and recording 14 tackles (nine solo) and had two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Prior to that, Moore played with the St. Louis Rams, New Orleans Saints and New York Giants. Moore began his career with the Giants in 2005, playing in eight games and totaling five tackles (four solo). The next season with St. Louis, Moore had just two tackles. Moore played for New Orleans in 2006, totaling five tackles, before returning to the Rams in 2007 where he had nine tackles that season and 10 tackles in 2008.
