Andre Carter Injury Update: Patriots DE Will Need Surgery, According To Report

New England Patriots defensive end Andre Carter went down in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos with an injury. It was hard to tell exactly how Carter was injured on the play. He was engaged with a couple of Broncos' linemen during the play and fell to the turf at the end of the play and held his knee immediately. Carter was then carted off the field and ruled out for the rest of the game by the Patriots.

After the game, it was known that Carter will need surgery:

Breaking: Agent Carl Poston just told me "looks like Andre (Carter) has a quad-related injury that will require surgery." #Patriots (via Josina Anderson's Twitter)

Carter leads the Patriots this season with 10 sacks.
